NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) –
The body found inside a car found in a creek along River Road has tentatively been identified as that of a man reported missing from Cheatham County, according to Metro Police.
Police said the victim was Steven Adams Jr., 31, of Ashland City. Adams had been reported missing in Cheatham County on June 20.
Metro Police said it appeared Adams was traveling south on River Road in his Hyundai Elantra when he entered a significant curve, traveled 200 feet off the roadway down an embankment and into a creek bed.
Police believe the crash occurred about nine days ago and had gone unnoticed until Thursday.
Police said a construction worker spotted the car in Indian Creek.
